So a few weeks ago, Kari had the great idea to have a mix cd swap with people who read her site.  A bunch of other people thought it was also a great idea and sent cds to her.  Unfortunately, she was a little slow on making her cd, so, to appease the masses of people clamoring for her mix cd, she said she would include a bonus cd.  She then asked me to make said bonus cd.  I finally finished it today, and wow, it's so much better than the one she made.  Not only is it chock full of kick-ass music, but every song seamlessly blends into the next, and it has a cool cover.  True, she's going to be using the LightScribe cds so the cds themselves will look spiffier than my tidy printed green Sharpie-ness.  We have a bet going on which cd people will like best.  Mine's so totally going to win.  Here's what the cover looks like...

I was going to say something stunningly profound, but I can't, for the life of me, remember what it was.  Oh well.

Baxter is one happy puppy.  He got to spend an hour tonight running around roughshod and playing all crazy-like with Nicki, the blue dappled mini-dachshund that lives the next building over.  She totally kicks his ass and has fun rolling him down the hill, but every time he gets knocked down, he's instantly back up on his feet and charges at Nicki again.  Sometime I've got to take pictures.

Wow.  Time just seems to be speeding by faster than I can comprehend.  I remember being a kid and how a week would seem like months, and how, when standing at the beginning of summer vacation, those two months seemed like an eternity.  Now every time I turn around, it's Sunday night with another wasted weekend behind me and another full week of work dead ahead.

Well, this weekend wasn't really wasted.  We did go out to a new movie theater in the area called the Rave (cue techno-y rave music: *oompcha oompcha oompcha*) that just opened in the area to see the DaVinci Code.  I had high hopes for the movie, but overall, the acting was stunningly sub-par.  I've seen at least five Audrey Tautou movies and I know she can act, but man, she was a robot in this.  Same with Tom Hanks.  Ian McKellen, however did a great job.  One neat thing was that five minutes after the movie began it stopped.  It was maybe 10 minutes before they could get it going again, but the manager came through and gave everyone free movie passes, so our next time is free.

I spent a good amount of time writing on my book and am now halfway through the fourth chapter, and I'm mostly done with an overview of the book that I hope to start shopping around to different publishing companies (after I get around to finding an agent, that is) sometime in the next few months.

We also started our own eBay store!  This past week someone emailed and asked to buy a picture from my Flickr account.  That, combined with all of our crazy selling of stuff on eBay lately, led us to start our eBay store.  (Here's that link again in case you missed clicking on it the first two times.)  Keep checking back as I'll be adding a few hundred more pictures over the next week or two.

One of the problems with writing a book is the impatience of your friends and family for you to finish it.  For instance, Kari sent me this link.

Speaking of which, I'm finally past the research and raw idea jotting phase of my book, and I've been doing some actual real writing on it.  The first three chapters are mostly done - they still need some tweaking and polishing, but yeah, it's now starting to actually resemble something more concrete than a 40-page pile of concepts and notes.
